Please mark your calendars for the MLK 2010 Volleyball Tournament!
January 30-31, 2010 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center.

The MLK 2010 Volleyball Tournament is a great opportunity to recruit new athletes from all over the Southeast. Last year we had teams from 8 different states, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Missouri. Last year the MLK Tournament was a sold out event that brought in 118 teams, to one central venue, the Memphis Cook Convention Center. This year, we are increasing the number of courts from 15 to 22, which means we will also be increasing the number of teams we allow into the tournament.
We understand how time consuming the recruiting process can be, so Memphis Metro would like for you to take advantage of this tournament and come watch highly sought after recruits and some of the best players in the Southeast. Memphis Metro will make your recruiting process easy, by providing you with information on all of the teams and athletes 16 and older. All athletes 16 and older will have identifiers on their shoes, that will indicate what grade they are in and if they are already signed. All of the competition is in one large venue, so recruiting is made easy when walking from court to court and match to match.
While on your recruiting visit, not only will you have the opportunity to watch great athletes, but you will also be able to stay in one of the luxury Memphis downtown hotels like The Marriott, The Crowne Plaza, or the ever famous, Peabody Hotel, just to name a few. You will be able to visit Beale Street, see the Memphis Grizzlies take on the New Orleans Hornets at the FedEx Form, and eat some of Rendezvous’ ever famous ribs.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

2-Day Tournament will begin on Saturday, January 30, 2010. A wave play format will be used with the morning wave beginning at 8:00 AM and the afternoon wave beginning at 2:00 PM. All teams will play both days, AM and PM waves will be assigned after entry deadline. The tournament Bracket Play on Sunday, January 31, 2010 will start at 8:00 AM.

PLAY LOCATION:

All divisions, all age groups will be played at Memphis Cook Convention Center located at 255 N Main Street, Memphis, TN 38103. All courts will be located in NW, SW and E Halls.
